(재)광주비엔날레는 지역에서 동시대 현대미술 활동을 이어가는 작가를 소개하고 만나는 지역작가연구프로그램 「작가스튜디오탐방」을 매년 진행하고 있습니다. 23년도는 온라인 프로그램을, 24년도는 온·오프라인 프로그램을 모두 운영합니다.
The Gwangju Biennale Foundation introduces and connects with local artists who are engaged in contemporary art activities in the region, and it conducts the annual research program on local artist, 「Artist Studio Visit」. In 2023, we operated online programs and in 2024, we will operate both online and offline programs.

2024년 3월까지 참여 작가의 작업을 소개하는 15분 내외의 인터뷰 영상을 매월 마지막 날 (재)광주비엔날레 공식 유튜브 채널에서 공개합니다.
Until March 2024, interviews introducing the artist's work will be featured, and these videos will be released on the last day of each month on the official Gwangju Biennale YouTube channel.

A. Hello, I’m Jeimin Kim. I produce works depicting plants such as grass and weeds as a way of conveying diversity, coexistence and the various aspects of our lives. |

Q. 작업의 주요 관점은 무엇인가요?
What are key aspects of your work?

A. 도시의 잡초나 풀에 관심이 많은데요. 이런 곳에서도 생명이 자라는구나 하는 경이로움을 느끼기도 하고요. 그러면서 이 식물들을 통해 보여주고 싶은 것은 (식물들이) 끈질기게 적응하면서 살아가는 모습이 우리 인간과 닮아 있다는 느낌이 들거든요. |
A. I am especially interested in the weeds and grass growing in the city.
I am awed by the fact that life flourishes in such an environment. What I wanted to show through these plants is that, they resemble humans themselves in that they persistently adapt to survive.
