제15회 광주비엔날레 예술감독 니콜라 부리오를 비롯한 큐레토리얼팀이 제15회 광주비엔날레 전시를 구체화하기 위해 1월에 한국을 방문했습니다.

특히 이번 방한은 제15회 큐레토리얼팀이 광주에 함께 모이는 첫 번째 팀 미팅으로 이들은 이번 광주 방문에서 외부 전시장으로 활용될 양림동 일대를 답사하고 지역 문화예술 관계자들과의 소통하는 자리를 가졌습니다.

큐레토리얼팀은 광주의 역사적 흔적과 삶이 담긴 장소를 다니면서 광주라는 도시 공간의 특수성을 전시의 맥락 안에서 시각예술로 보여줄 방안을 모색했습니다.

⭐ 제15회 광주비엔날레는  《판소리-모두의 울림》(PANSORI - a soundscape of the 21st century)을  제목으로 오는 9월 7일부터 12월 1일까지 86일 간 광주비엔날레 전시관을 비롯해서 양림동 일대에서 개최됩니다.

15th Gwangju Biennale Artistic Director Nicolas Bourriaud and the curatorial team visited South Korea in January to further develop the exhibition of the 15th Gwangju Biennale.

This visit to Korea is also the first team meeting in Gwangju for the 15th Biennale’s curatorial team. They surveyed the Yanglim-dong area, where several external exhibition venues will be located and met with members of the local cultural and art community.

They also visited locations in Gwangju that embody historical traces and the essence of its inhabitants’ lives, seeking ways to visually present the uniqueness of the city space of Gwangju within the context of the exhibition.

"Coming to Gwangju with the curators has provided an opportunity to see the environment of Gwangju, and interact and empathize with the citizens of Gwangju. I intend to create the 15th Gwangju Biennale in a way that fully understands the local context while unfolding future-oriented cultural discourse and vision."
