광주비엔날레를 구심점으로 광주 전역에 펼쳐지는 문화예술의 장
2024년 광주비엔날레 창설 30주년에 열리는 제15회 광주비엔날레가 《판소리-모두의 울림》(PANSORI-a soundscape of the 21st century)을 제목으로 2024년 9월 7일부터 12월 1일까지 86일간 광주비엔날레 전시관을 비롯하여 양림동 일대에서 개최됩니다.
광주비엔날레는 지난 5월 니콜라 부리오(Nicolas Bourriaud) 기획자를 예술감독으로 선임하고 6월에 주제 및 방향성을 발표했습니다.
《판소리-모두의 울림》 은 광주 곳곳을 새로운 공간적 조건과 인류세 현상을 반영하는 작품들을 선보이는 작가들과 함께 동시대 공간으로 여행을 제안합니다. 전시는 세계 각국 작가들이 작곡한 시각적 교향곡 형태로 판소리 본질을 드러내면서 음악적 은유로 구조화한 오페라의 형태를 취합니다.
관객들은 '부딪침 소리'(Larsen effect), '겹침 소리'(Polyphony), '처음 소리'(Primordial Sound)로 이루어진 전시 공간을 간단한 서사를 따라 감상하며, 그 여정은 포화된 행성에서부터 ‘더 큰 세상’인 우주와 분자 세계에 대한 탐색까지 이어집니다.
또한 9월 7일과 8일에 국립아시아문화전당, 극장3에서 국제심포지움 개최됩니다. 제15회 광주비엔날레 전시주제에 초점을 맞춘 깊이 있는 대화와 토론을 통해 다양한 관점과 생각을 공유하고 예술과 문화에 대한 새로운 통찰을 얻을 수 있는 기회를 제공합니다.
Gwangju Biennale as the heart of Gwangju's art and culture scene
The 15th Gwangju Biennale titled PANSORI-a soundscape of the 21st century will run for 86 days, from September 7 to December 1, 2024, at the Gwangju Biennale Exhibition Hall and various locations in Yanglim-dong. The same year also marks the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Gwangju Biennale in 1994, which led to its inaugural edition in 1995.
Last May, the Gwangju Biennale Foundation appointed curator Nicolas Bourriaud as the Artistic Director of the 15th Gwangju Biennale and announced the title, theme, and structure of the Biennale in June.
PANSORI-a soundscape of the 21st century proposes a journey into contemporary space with artists whose works reflect our new spatial conditions and the upheavals of the Anthropocene. Presenting itself as a visual symphony composed by international artists, the exhibition will take an operatic shape, structured by musical metaphors.
Visitors will follow a simple narrative, structured in three sections: the “Larsen effect,” “polyphony,” and the “primordial sound.” The journey will encompass a saturated planet and non-human worlds, either microscopic or cosmic.
Additionally, an international symposium will be held at the Asia Culture Center, Theater 3, on September 7th and 8th. The event will provide an opportunity to share various perspectives and thoughts, and gain new insights into art and culture through in-depth conversations and discussions focused on the theme of the 15th Gwangju Biennale. |
