Gwangju Biennale artists and curators featured in Power 100 역대 광주비엔날레 작가·기획자 국제적 행보 눈길
영국 유명 매체인 아트리뷰(ArtReview)에서 영향력 있는 미술계 인사들을 발표하는 ‘파워 100인’에 제14회 광주비엔날레 참여작가를 비롯해서 역대 기획자, 참여작가가 대거 포진되었습니다.
제14회 광주비엔날레 참여작가 중에서는 아서 자파(Arthur Jafa), 다야니타 싱(Dayanita Singh), 에드가 칼렐(Edgar Calel), 나임 모하이멘(Naeem Mohaiemen), 캔디스 린(Candice Lin)이 이름을 올렸으며, 이외 역대 참여작가로는 히토 슈타이얼(Hito Steyerl), 리크리트 티라바니자(Rirkrit Tiravanija), 카라빙 필름 콜렉티브(Karrabing Film Collective), 루앙루파(ruangrupa), 오토봉 엥캉가(Otobong Nkanga), 세실리아 비쿠냐(Cecilia Vicuña), 양혜규 작가 등이 포함되었습니다.
역대 기획자로는 2012년 제9회 광주비엔날레 공동예술감독이었던 마미 카타오카(Mami Kataoka)가 2021년부터 지속적으로 이름을 올리고 있으며, 2021년 제13회 광주비엔날레 공동예술감독이었던 나타샤 진발라(Natasha Ginwala)가 포함되었습니다. 진발라는 제13회 광주비엔날레 공동예술감독인 데프네 아야스(Defne Ayas)와 함께 2020년 명단에 오른바 있습니다.

Gwangju Biennale artists and curators of previous editions garner international recognition
Artists and curators of the 14th Gwangju Biennale and past editions have been featured in ArtReview's 'Power 100' which lists influential figures in the art world each year.
14th Gwangju Biennale artists that were included are Arthur Jafa, Dayanita Singh, Edgar Calel, Naeem Mohaiemen, and Candice Lin. Past participants are Hito Steyerl, Rirkrit Tiravanija, Karrabing Film Collective, ruangrupa, Otobong Nkanga, Cecilia Vicuna, and Haegue Yang.
Among the curators, Mami Kataoka, co-artistic director of the 9th Gwangju Biennale in 2012, has been listed since 2021. Natasha Ginwala, co-artistic director of the 13th Gwangju Biennale was also included. Ginwala previously made the list in 2020 with Defne Ayays as co-artistic directors of the 13th Gwangju Biennale which took place in 2021.
The Gwangju Biennale will strive to support ongoing international endeavors of the artists and curators of the Gwangju Biennale.

2017년부터 지속적으로 순위에 올랐던 아서 자파는 이번에는 32위에 이름을 올렸다. 영화, 사진, 설치 작업을 아우르는 작품 활동을 통해 아프리카계 미국인이 살아가는 현실을 사유해 온 아서 자파는 제14회 광주비엔날레에서 애도와 비판의 감정을 환기시키는 <LOML> (2022) 영상 작업을 선보인 바 있다. |
